Happy Holidays!

Dear Visitor,

We hope this fall and coming holiday celebrations find you happy, healthy and surrounded by family.   On November 6, your Foundation paid their respects to Will Rogers at the Will Rogers Days with a ceremonial wreath laying and as the Grand Marshal at the Parade that followed.  Will Rogers was an American icon in life and is still idolized today, celebrating his 137th birthday.

Our involvement in events like this that celebrate the horse/human relationship would not be possible without the generous contributions you have put forth. Your ongoing contributions make our efforts more visible, relevant and historic. This year, we are asking for you to consider your Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation as one of your end-of-year tax deductible gifts.  Your contributions will help us expand our traveling exhibit, take us to other places where the Palomino horse still thrives (in the silver screen, major arenas or through the passion of major artists.)

All gifts donated online are protected by PayPal's secure web portal for your security.  Learn more about how your donation enhances the future of your Foundation.

Happy Holidays,

PHBHF President

The Palomino - America's Parade Horse

The Golden Palomino horse has historically been synonymous with popular parades of the day. Palominos are a favorite for Shriner Horse Patrols and Sheriff Posse groups. These units were always an expected crowd pleaser at local, state and national parades such as The Rose Bowl Parade, held in Pasadena, CA.

Most units used silver parade saddles that were a mainstay for cowboy celebrities of the time. Accordingly, Palomino horse shows offered Parade Classes, as well as, a Fiesta Class, featuring these kinds of parade horses. Pictured below is an example of a Parade horse with a silver Parade saddle. Also, pictured is the Tournament of Roses Parade, Pasadena, CA.

The Palomino Horse still maintains his presence in major parades at the Rose Bowl among others. On November 6, 2016, the Palomino Horse added another parade to his list as the Grand Marshal of the 2016 Will Rogers Days Parade in Claremore, OK, commemorating Will Rogers, his contributions to the state of Oklahoma (and the nation) and to remember his Cherokee spirit, and his love of "Comanche", his Palomino horse" still lives strong in the hearts of people not only in Oklahoma, but around the country.

Donor Update

Among the several public presentations your Foundation Board has made over the past several months, there are new relationships being built with other western heritage foundations and community organizations, with initial examples of displaying the heritage of the Palomino Horse in a traveling exhibit format at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum and at the Color Breed Congress.

Please consider a tax deductible annual gift before the end of the year to help the Foundation appear in more places in 2017, enhance a secure repository for all the Palomino artifacts and to help your Board of Directors travel to share the story of the beloved Palomino.

Happy Holidays, and for those Palominos in the major competition arenas this fall, we wish all of you good luck whether you are at the Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show, the APHA World Championship Show or the NRHA Futurity.
