March 22, 2019, Tulsa, Okla. - The Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation (PHBHF) debuted the Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation Horse of the Year at the 2019 Palomino Horse Breeders of America (PHBA) Annual Convention on March 15 in Tulsa, Okla. to DM SISSY HAYDAY, owned by Dan and Leslie Kinsel of Cotulla, Texas. DM SISSY HAYDAY (known at home as Sister) is a 2011 double registered American Quarter Horse and PHBA mare by PC FRENCHMANS HAYDAY out of ROYAL SISSY IRISH. Sister and Kinsel's daughter Hailey continue to add to their place in rodeo history with a resume including top honors at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, Calgary Stampede, San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, and much more making this mare more than worthy of being named to such a coveted honor.
 

“From surpassing more than $1 Million in barrel racing winnings, to breaking records at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, in San Antonio, and throughout the Better Barrel Races record books, it’s clear that not only is Sister a special Palomino to a deserving family, but certainly worthy of a permanent home with the Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation,” said PHBHF President Alda Buresh.
 

Not only are Sister’s and Kinsel’s achievements memorialized by the largest equine organizations and events in the rodeo industry but also through their thousands of Facebook followers and on their own Wikipedia profile.
 

This distinguished award was developed by the Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation and honors a Palomino horse for its tremendous and significant contribution and recognition in competition, through acknowledgment, or as a result from stardom in the equine industry.
 

The Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation is dedicated to preserving the past, present, and future of the Palomino Horse and to those who have dedicated themselves to maintaining and perpetuating the breed. The foundation was created as a way for individuals to make contributions that are meaningful and make a positive impact on the Palomino Horse, their owners and to those who made significant sacrifices to preserve the Palomino legacy.
