Will Rogers, an influential Cherokee cowboy and still recognized by name today from his vast and tremendous contributions to Oklahoma and the United States of America was honored this weekend by the Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation, Oklahoma Palomino Exhibitors Association and Palomino Horse Breeders of America in Claremore, Okla. on November 6, 2016.
The event started with a ceremonial wreath laying at his tomb at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in a similar tribute in 1948 by the Oklahoma Palomino Exhibitors Association and climaxed with the Foundation being represented as the Grand Marshal. To share our heartfelt support of Will Rogers, his love of Comanche, "yella pony" and the preservation of the history of the Palomino horse, the live video of the ceremony has been saved and is available below. More video of the parade and details about the day's events can be found on the Palomino Heritage Foundation's Facebook page.
